Starting base pay is $27.00 however, pay is based on experience and qualifications.
This position will be responsible for all upkeep and maintenance for the University's vehicles in addition to help manage day to day work orders.
Examples of Duties
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assesses and analyzes work orders and plans work to be performed.
  • Collaborates with Maintenance lead to procure parts and/or accessories required for repair.
  • Responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of all University vehicles. Performs routine service i.e. lube chassis, check and top off all fluid levels, change oil and filter, reset oil life monitor system, inspect filters, rotate tires, set tire pressures, and relearn tpms sensors as needed.
  • Diagnoses and repairs vehicles to factory specs. Using a variety of tools, which must be supplied by the technician.
  • Completes Work orders with full documentation on work performed, parts used and time involved.
  • Communicates and schedules work with Maintenance Lead.
  • Reviews completed work to ensure quality of repairs.
  • Performs work according to policies and procedures, and maintains a clean and safe working environment.
  • Completes and maintains ASE Training and Certification.
  • Participates in snow removal and grounds work efforts.
  • Participates in on-call rotation.

Typical Qualifications
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
  • Education: High school diploma or GED required.
  • Must possess a valid Maine driver's license.
  • Minimum of 4 years as a Certified Technician
  • Five ASE Certifications or more preferred
  • Refrigerant Handling and recovery Certification
  • State Motor Vehicle Inspection License
  • Knowledge of tools and equipment related to this job description is required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and/or ABILITIES
  • Read, analyze, and interpret technical instructions, journal and procedures, or governmental regulations
  • Diagnose and recommend solutions to basic and complex automotive problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where limited diagnostic standardization exists
  • Interpret, understand, and apply instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
