Part-Time Lecturer in Psychology

The University of Washington (UW) Tacoma invites applications for a Part-Time Lecturer of Psychology in the Division of Social, Behavioral, and Human Sciences within the School of Interdisciplinary Arts & Sciences (SIAS). This is a part-time position with a 9-month service period and will begin September 16, 2023. The successful candidate will teach 5 courses in Psychology in the 2023-24 academic year (55% FTE). These courses will likely include: TPSYCH 209 Fundamentals of Psychological Research I, TPSYCH 309 Fundamentals of Psychological Research II, and TPSYCH 250 Human Cognition. Please visit the Course Catalog for a more detailed description of these specific courses.  Courses will be distributed across three academic quarters with no more than three courses assigned in any single quarter. This position is renewable, contingent on funding and curricular needs. The course load/FTE for reappointments may be variable across the years and will be established in the Spring quarter preceding each academic year.

The base salary range for this position will be $583 per month for 9-months per 5-credit course (11% FTE per month) commensurate with experience and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination. A 55% FTE teaching load of 5 5-credit courses per year would have a base salary of approximately $2,915 per month for 9 months. Qualifications

• This position requires an earned Master’s or Doctoral degree (or foreign equivalent) in Psychology or related field at the time of appointment.
• The successful applicant will have been the instructor of record for at least one of the courses listed above, or for a comparable course.
