Assistant Director, Academic Ops, Integration & Planning
About the Opportunity
JOB SUMMARY
The Assistant Director of Academic Operations, Integration and Planning manages all academic aspects of pathway mobility programs, including N.U.in and Global Scholars. Reporting to the Senior Associate Director and working closely with other program and student life teams, the Assistant Director coordinates curriculum and academic offerings; manages partner relations related to academics; produces curriculum guides and plans; oversees course equivalencies and course matching; manages course registration procedures; and monitors student academic performance. The Assistant Director also assists in developing experiential learning projects across the pathway mobility programs. In collaboration with the Assistant Director, Academic Guidance, the Assistant Director manages assessments and surveys for pathway mobility programs, including academic progress surveys, final program evaluations, and course-level reporting.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES
Academic Administration and Planning
- Coordinate curriculum and academic offerings with partner
institutions
- Match academic offerings with Northeastern courses
- Manage partner relations related to academics, including
coordinating meetings, communications, and curriculum
documents
- Oversee course equivalencies processing
- In collaboration with academic advisors and other team members,
produce curriculum guides and plans for each pathway mobility
location
- Meet regularly with academic advisors to communicate curriculum
guides and plans
Course Registration and Selection
- Manage course registration process for pathway mobility
programs
- Liaise with academic advisors on course selections and
registration
- Liaise with partners on course selections and
registration
Academic Monitoring
- In collaboration with other team members, assess and monitor
student performance and evaluation
- Manage pathway mobility program surveys, student progress
reports, course evaluations, and program evaluation
Special Projects
- Coordinate experiential learning projects across pathway
mobility programs, which may include grant/cohort programs,
workshops, digital badges, and bootcamps
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's Degree required; Master's Degree
preferred.
- 2+ years of academic administration required, preferably in
higher education and/or international education.
- Working knowledge of the US Higher Education administration and
familiarity with international higher education systems, degree
structures and progressions, pedagogies and methodologies, and
approaches to credits and grades.
- Excellent problem-solving and strong analytical skills with
proven ability to strategize, prioritize, and multi-task to meet
goals and deadlines.
- Basic understanding of research and/or program
evaluation.
- Strong interpersonal skills, sufficient to work effectively and
collaboratively with a number of different constituencies.
Professionalism and collegiality in a team environment, excellent
judgment, discretion, and the ability to make decisions in a timely
manner.
- Strong oral and written communication skills, including
intercultural and interpersonal communication.
- Ability to effectively represent the University to outside
institutions and universities.
- Ability to interact with global program representatives,
faculty, and students in a highly professional manner with an
understanding of protocol and confidentiality.
