Florida Southern College invites applications for a visiting mathematics position to begin in August 2023. The successful candidate will be required to teach undergraduate mathematics courses for majors and non-science majors.  The normal teaching load is four (4) four-hour courses per semester.

 

The master’s degree in mathematics, statistics, or applied mathematics is required for the position.  Preference will be given to candidates who hold a Ph.D., or are ABD, in mathematics or statistics. Candidates should also have strong credentials in teaching first-year undergraduate mathematics, statistics, and applied mathematics. Familiarity with machine learning, programming, and database management is preferred.  Applicants must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents of the U.S at the time of application.

 

The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to excellence and innovation in undergraduate teaching and be skilled in methods of engaged learning and the use of instructional technology.
