Job Description
Working Arizona PBS Brand Engagement and Marketing team leadership, this position requires a high level of attention to detail and works with both internal and external clients to create various print, digital and motion graphic assets that align with the Arizona PBS brand and support the promotion of station projects and activities. Incumbents in this classification work independently within established deadlines inherent to the creative design industry. Prepares graphics for a variety of assets, including a quarterly print magazine, motion graphics for broadcast and digital use, slide decks, postcards, digital signage, e-newsletters, social media, promotional items and more.

Essential Duties
Coordinates with clients requesting graphic design or layout work; develops ideas; suggests new or modifies existing ideas; demonstrated graphic techniques and advised other departmental personnel on techniques and methods to use. May use a variety of desktop publishing, graphic design, web development/management and animation tools. Prepares mock-ups, renderings, drawings and cover illustrations. Maintains contact with vendors to ensure adherence to deadlines, time schedules and specifications. Coordinates with internal and external project production teams to ensure that all requests align with the requestor’s creative vision, as well as the station’s overall brand guidelines. Maintains department filing systems for completed artwork and archival computer files.

Prepares printing specifications for print shop; obtains bids and recommends contract awards; maintains contact with vendors to ensure adherence to time schedules and specifications. Performs other duties as assigned.
This is a staff level position that works under the general direction of the station’s art director.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design or related field AND four (4) years experience in graphic design and/or website design; OR, Eight (8) years experience in graphic design and/or website design; OR, Any equivalent combination of education and/or experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with a variety of desktop publishing, graphic design software, photography, video and animation tools.
- Demonstrated knowledge of public television programming.
- Ability to identify, develop and deploy solutions to improve effectiveness of multimedia delivered materials and information.
- Ability to develop and maintain cooperative and collaborative working relationships with clients and among team members.
- Ability to provide alternative creative ideas and solutions to package text, images and sound to achieve desired results; understands targeted audience needs and requirements.
- Ability to define tasks, responsibilities and outcomes; documents activities and tracks progress.
- Ability to identify required resources.
- Ability to understand and respond appropriately to client requests; escalates urgent/conflicting requests.
- Able to apply good/concise communication skills during personal, written and telephone interactions.
- Able to establish and maintain effective working relationships
Working Environment
- Activities are primarily performed in a regular, climate controlled office setting subject to extended periods of sitting, standing, walking.
- Visual acuity and manual dexterity associated with daily use of desktop computer.
- Bending, stooping, reaching and lifting up to 20 pounds.
- Ability to interview, video and/or record individuals in conjunction with project work.
- Regular activities require ability to quickly change priorities which may include and/or are subject to resolution of conflicts.
- Ability to clearly communicate to perform essential duties.
- Regular review of completed tasks.
