Assistant Professor of Economics

JOB SUMMARY:

The School of Business at Greensboro College invites applications for a faculty position to begin August 2023.  The position is for an Assistant Professor of Economics.  The successful candidate will teach courses in the Department of Business Administration and Economics which may include but are not limited to:  Principles of Economics (microeconomics, macroeconomics), Current Economic Issues, Descriptive Business Analytics (statistics), and Predictive Business Analytics (statistical data analysis). The final teaching assignments will be based on the candidate’s academic strengths and previous teaching experience.

The School of Business offers undergraduate majors in Accounting, Business Administration and Economics (with concentrations in marketing, management, and human resources management), and Supply Chain Management and minors in Business Analytics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, and Accounting. 

Job Qualifications:

Preferred qualifications of the successful candidate will include an earned doctorate in Economics or Applied Economics (ABD candidates will be considered provided degree is successfully completed prior to start date). A master’s degree with a minimum of 18 hours in economics from a regionally accredited institution would be considered. 

The qualified candidate will have the ability and desire to teach and mentor students, promote diverse perspectives in the classroom; and engage in a highly collaborative and increasingly diverse environment.
