Position Overview:

The Director of Recruitment for the Technical Institute for Environmental Professions (TIEP) is responsible for the development and management of recruitment strategies and outreach including developing lead generation, managing new enrollment processes from prospect to admitted and onboarding new learners through the enrolled stage. The Director will be responsible for data collection, reporting and analysis to inform recruitment efforts and goals. This position is responsible for all aspects of the recruitment to matriculation cycle, as well as managing the departmental budget/expenses and assisting the Vice President of the Technical Institution for Environmental Professions (VP for TIEP) in preparation of overall TIEP goals and revenue. In addition, the Director of Recruitment is responsible for supervising Recruiters, ensuring that the team meet term and yearly goals, training as well as providing professional development for Recruiters. Within the framework of functional leadership, this position will work closely with the TIEP Team and Enterprise Leadership to identify and research new revenue streams, market academic programs, lead all TIEP recruitment efforts, and develop and enhance external partnerships to grow and sustain key TIEP initiatives. This position is responsible for ensuring that the recruitment and admissions process is accessible, consistent, innovative and supportive of all audiences.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage the proactive and holistic learner contact and conversion throughout lead generation, inquiry, application and associated processes using the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) and information system databases to generate the revenue necessary for the long-term stability of TIEP. Provide leadership for the recruitment of learners for the Technical Institute of Environmental Professions.
  • Responsible for direction and supervision of the Recruiters to provide learner recruitment services including lead generation, lead nurturing, communication flow, unofficial transcript evaluation, and creating a seamless handoff to Career Coaches after matriculation.
  • Mentor, and train all Recruiters, monitor their learner interactions for maximum learner support, and ensure appropriate trainings, continuous improvement, and professional development.
  • Responsible for overseeing all Recruitment lead conversions and ensure individuals meet their recruitment goals as well as proper follow up on all learner inquiries.
  • Implement and establish new strategies, programs, and processes as necessary for the effective recruitment of learners.
  • Ensure a culture of superior customer service through example, encouragement and direction to staff.
  • Collaborate with Marketing to develop, implement, monitor, and evaluate a marketing plan to include all TIEP Learning initiatives.
  • Meet regularly with marketing to create and implement aggressive outreach strategy, drip campaigns, and application materials for all TIEP programs.
  • Serve as the content manager for specific web pages as assigned.
  • Act as point of escalation for problems between SEBU and Enterprise services and work directly with VP on critical areas of conflict.
  • Manage departmental budget and assist the VP by providing data necessary to develop the overall TIEP budget.
  • Maintain appropriate records and submit timely reports on all recruitment activities as needed to the VP.

  • Provide liaison between the Institution and the administration for partner institutions (for example: military education centers, high schools, adult education centers, corporations), as assigned. Build and maintain necessary relationships with prospective learners and other influencers.
  • Plan, organize and participate in recruitment events and travel. Providing leadership at events and meetings where a relationship has not yet been established.
  • Develop and implement operational policies, procedures and standards for quality assurance.
  • Act as sponsor for project improvements within the team and ensure new policies and procedures are implemented.
  • Initiate and respond to prospects and leads by appropriate means such as but not limited to; in-person, telephone, email, text, letter, video, and social media.
  • Plan, organize and present at meetings and events both on and off campus to both individuals and groups, including.
  • Present the institution in a favorable light to individuals, groups, businesses, and the community orally, in writing, in-person and electronically.
  • In partnership with Marketing create, develop and coordinate general recruitment and program-specific collateral and recruitment strategies through onboarding.
  • Prepare statistical and narrative reports to evaluate the effectiveness of recruitment strategies.
  • Problem-solve and support learners through the recruitment process.
  • Review learner applications and appeals for admission decisions for designated programs based on agreed upon parameters.
  • Pro-actively communicate challenges, successes and failures with leadership.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required:
  • Bachelors degree required, Masters preferred.
  • Three to five years of recruitment in higher education or admissions experience or equivalent, preferably at a two-year institution or for non-traditional learner populations. Preferred experience recruiting for non-standard terms and tuition-driven institutions.
  • Work collaboratively in a diverse, inclusive, and learner-centered environment.
  • High degree of commitment to customer service and student success.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and has the flexibility to handle a variety of duties and projects throughout the day as well as throughout the year.
  • Exemplary sales and customer service skills.
  • Strong public speaking and written communication skills as well as strong interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational, analytical and time management skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Outlook, presentation software, and social media platforms required; experience using a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system such as Salesforce CRM a plus.
  • Proficient with social media utilization for professional purposes.
  • The ability to work as a member of a team and the confidence to work independently.
  • Ability to function effectively within a matrix organizational structure, maintaining open lines of professional communication.
  • Strong strategic, creative, analytical, and organizational skills.
  • Travel required as needed, must have a valid drivers license and complete a successful RMV check.
Work Schedule:

Work hours are specific to the requirements of this position and can include days, evenings, and weekends. Working extended hours required as needed. Must be flexible and cooperative in fulfilling responsibilities and meeting the Institutions needs. Although Unity Environmental University employees are generally scheduled to work at their specifically assigned locations, there are times when travel is necessary and employees are required from time to time to attend events, meetings or work temporary assignments at any Unity Environmental University location.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, it is regularly required to sit and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand or walk. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The use of either hand for repetitive movements such as grasping, grasping and turning, and fine manipulation is required as is the ability to use the telephone for internal and external communications.
