Job Summary

Reporting to the District Director of Institutional Effectiveness and Accreditation, the Assistant Director of Accreditation supports the development of a systematic, comprehensive, and integrated accreditation process that complies with Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges ( SACSCOC ) requirements.

This leadership position is responsible for successfully leading the college in all coordination of institutional regional accreditation activities and supporting programmatic accreditation. Also, communicates findings and recommendations for action in a clear and timely manner to facilitate continuous, informed decision-making throughout the college.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Performance Requirements
· Coordinates all written correspondence with SACSCOC as well as edits, and proofs all documentation for notifications, substantive change, and program closures
· Maintains detailed knowledge regarding current SACSCOC policies, procedures, and practices
· Assists with activities required for the fifth year and decennial reviews, such as certificate of compliance, quality enhancement plan, substantive change reports, and preparation for site visits
· Communicates and coordinates with other departments or divisions across the college to ensure faculty and staff have had opportunities to participate in the preparation of materials and are prepared for the visit
· Communicates regularly with TCC academic and administrative leadership about the importance of maintaining alignment with accreditation standards and requirements, especially in years between self-studies
· Assists with professional development activities for the College related to SACSCOC accreditation requirements
· Maintain confidentiality and integrity of information in support of accreditation

General Supervision and Management
· Supervises content development used to document compliance with accreditation and college-wide continuous improvement
· Supports the management of SACSCOC compliance and reaffirmation in coordination with the SACSCOC liaison


Service Excellence
· Participates on behalf of the College in external community organizations and associations
· Participates in task forces, councils, and other TCC committees as assigned
· Attends the workplace regularly, reports to work punctually and follows a work schedule to keep up with the demands of the worksite
· Completes all required training and professional development sessions sponsored through the Tarrant County College ( TCC ) Institute
· Supports the values of the College: diversity, teaching excellence, student success, innovation and creativity and service to the College
· Supports the mission, values and 3 goals and 8 principles of the College

*Performs other related tasks as required

SUPERVISION – Works under the general supervision of the District Director of Institutional Effectiveness and Accreditation

Required Minimum Qualifications

· Master’s degree
· Three (3) years of experience in higher education
· Three (3) years of experience in accreditation, state authorization, or similar at an educational institution

Preferred Qualifications

· Two (2) years of Supervisory experience at the post-secondary level
· Strong understanding of SACSCOC and Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board ( THECB )
· Engagement in teaching and/or facilitating workshops and training on assessment topics

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

· Proficiency with word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software
· Understanding of federal requirements applicable to higher education
· Highly developed oral and written communication skills
· Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills
· Commitment to delivering quality education and high levels of service to students, faculty and staff
· Good critical thinking skills
· Excellent collaboration and team-building skills
· Demonstrated organization skills, ability to pay close attention to detail, and to manage long-term, multi-faceted projects with many participants
· Ability to work within tight timeframes and meet strict deadlines
· Excellent interpretation of statistical data

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and is occasionally exposed to risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.
