The College of Engineering and Applied Sciences (CEAS) is seeking a dynamic and visionary leader to serve as its next Dean.  The University’s College of Engineering and Applied Sciences is an outstanding academic institution with a distinguished faculty, staff, and student body.  The College offers undergraduate programs in various fields of engineering and applied sciences.  It is committed to providing an exceptional education to its students and conducting cutting-edge research that has a positive impact on society.

The successful candidate for the Dean of the College of Engineering and Applied Sciences should possess the following qualifications:

1. Academic Credentials:  The ideal candidate must hold a Ph.D. in a relevant field of engineering or applied sciences from a reputable academic institution.
2. Leadership and Administrative Skills:  The candidate must demonstrate a track record of leadership and administrative skills in an academic setting.  They should have a vision for the College’s future, be able to articulate that vision to the faculty and staff, and lead the College toward achieving its goals.
3. Research and Scholarship:  The candidate should have a distinguished record of research and scholarship in their field of expertise.  They should have a history of obtaining external funding to support research and be able to articulate a clear plan for the College to enhance its research output.
4. Commitment to Diversity:  The candidate should have a deep commitment to promoting diversity within the College’s community.  They should have experience working with diverse populations and a track record for fostering an inclusive and welcoming environment.
5. Communication Skills:  The candidate must possess excellent communication skills and be able to present the College effectively to various stakeholders, including alumni and industry partners.
