Position Summary:
The Department of Nursing seeks dynamic and engaged nurse educators and scholars to join a growing team with two openings for full time Assistant Professors.

The positions includes a 10-month contract, with an 18-credit teaching load per academic year and the option to teach additional summer courses. Teaching will include classroom, simulation-based, lab, clinical instruction, and/or innovative settings. Successful candidate demonstrates documented expertise in their area(s) of teaching showcasing commitment to ongoing disciplinary currency, scholarship according to the Boyer Model, and initiative to build relationships that accentuate strengths among team members in alignment with the mission, values, and vision of the department, school, and university. The start date will be for the Fall 2023 semester.

The mission of Department of Nursing of the Marjorie K. Unterberg School of Nursing and Health Studies is to provide high quality baccalaureate and graduate education programs to a diverse student population for the development of potential nurse leaders. Nursing offers the following programs accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE): 1) direct entry Bachelor of Science in Nursing; 2) Master of Science in Nursing with specializations in Adult-Gerontological Primary Care Nurse Practitioner, Family Nurse Practitioner, Nursing Education, and Psychiatric and Mental Health Nurse Practitioner; 3) Post-Master's Certificates in Adult-Gerontological Primary Care Nurse Practitioner, Family Nurse Practitioner, Nursing Education, and Psychiatric and Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Nurse; 4) Graduate Endorsements in School Nursing and School-Nursing - Non-Instructional; and, 4) Doctor of Nursing Practice.

PhD DNP EdD· If master’s degree is not in nursing, candidates must have a doctoral degree in nursing.· New Jersey professional registered nurse licensure or eligibility with license required at time of employment dependent on Board of Nursing response time. Minimum one-year direct nursing care experience as a registered nurse or certified/licensed advanced practice nurse.· Demonstrated record of scholarly engagement· Demonstrated effectiveness in teaching the undergraduate and graduate levels· Demonstrated ability to work in a diverse environment and with a diverse student population



Preferred Qualifications:
