About the Opportunity:


Responsibilities:
The Subjectivity Laboratory, directed by Jorge Morales and located in the Department of Psychology at Northeastern University, is seeking to recruit a Postdoctoral Research Associate. The specific research topics are flexible and are constrained by shared interests with the laboratory, which studies questions in visual perception, conscious awareness and introspection using a wide array of methods, primarily from psychophysics, but that may include philosophical frameworks and neuroscientific tools such as fMRI or TMS if justified by the research question. Primary responsibilities will be designing studies, creating stimuli, programming experiments, analyzing data, presenting research conducted in the laboratory in national and international conferences and workshops, and preparing manuscripts for publication, in consultation with the PI. The postdoctoral research associate will also be responsible for participating in academic activities in the laboratory and in the intellectual life of the department such as lab meetings, reading groups, colloquium talks, etc.

Qualifications:
Ph.D. in Psychology, Cognitive Science, Neuroscience, Philosophy or similar disciplines at the time of appointment. Candidates should have a record of published work (including preprints) broadly related to the lab's interests. Proficiency in statistical analysis and in at least one programming language (e.g. Python, Matlab, HTML/CSS/JS) is required. Strong analytic skills for designing novel experiments and for analyzing empirical and theoretical results is required.
