Job Description:

The Coordinator, Federal Direct Loans and Default Management directs and supervises the Federal Direct Loan and Default Management Program; provides technical assistance in federal aid programs, training, and computer automation. Supervises Financial Aid career service staff responsible for federal financial aid; plans, organizes, and coordinates all district-wide, state, and local Federal Direct Loan and Default Management programs; researches federal guidelines and compliance issues in relation to Federal Direct Loan and Default Management programs; assists the Director, Financial Aid with oversight responsibilities for Federal Direct Loan guide; and authorizes fund disbursements for Federal Direct Loans.

The Coordinator, Federal Direct Loans and Default Management coordinates updates of the automated student aid computer system in accordance with all Title IV and State regulatory changes with Workday to ensure accurate packaging, awarding, and audit compliance; coordinates system troubleshooting with MIS and Workday; prepares required reports in relation to Federal Aid; assists in the development and maintenance of the Financial Aid/Veterans Services/Scholarship Web page; and provides financial aid assistance to students, parents, faculty, and staff on all types of aid administered through the Financial Aid Office. Reports to the Director, Financial Aid.

Minimum Qualifications: Graduation from a regionally accredited institution with a bachelor’s degree. Successful results of a criminal background check are required.

Pursuant to College policy, it is an employment eligibility requirement for an applicant to meet the requirements of § 435.04(2), Florida Statutes, related to background investigations. Any person failing to meet the requirements of the statute will be deemed not qualified to hold employment in this position. A Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) approved background check will be conducted on every successful candidate as a condition of employment, and any person who fails to disclose any adverse information contained in the background investigation at the time of submitting the employment application will be disqualified from employment.

SALARY RANGE: $35,000.00 – $42,500.00
