The University of Tulsa’s (TU) new Honors College seeks an assistant dean to lead its national scholarships and mentoring programs. The assistant dean will work closely with the inaugural dean, Professor Jennifer Frey, in supporting outstanding students applying for competitive fellowships and scholarships, setting up advising and mentoring structures within the college, teaching in the college, and assisting the dean in other aspects of the college when necessary.

Administrative duties will include recruiting and developing student leaders from their first year on campus, coordinating institutional nominations and letters of support, creating, and overseeing a mentorship program for students in the college as they work to graduate with Honors, and participating in the life of the college, which is a living-learning community on campus. Teaching duties include teaching honors college courses.

The mission of the Honors College at the University of Tulsa is to offer an excellent and accelerated liberal arts education, focused on the study of classical texts, in a vibrant intellectual community that fosters friendship, growth in excellent habits of mind and character, and service to the common good. For assistant dean, we seek a scholar with a strong record of teaching excellence, who has familiarity with and affinity for classical texts of the liberal arts tradition, and who embraces the unique vision of the college, which will be a hallmark academic unit at TU.
