Overview
The Assistant Dean for Intercultural Advising and Engagement serves as a senior staff member of the College Advising Team assisting with the strategic planning and assessment of overall advising operations and support services for the College's 8000+ students. Reporting to the Associate Dean of Advising, the Assistant Dean serves on the Dean's Cabinet and represents the College to various internal and external constituencies. This position leads a multidisciplinary team that provides advising, supportive services and programming for diverse, underrepresented, undergraduate student populations: Black, Indigenous/Native American, Latine, and first generation students. The AD oversees planning and implementation of co-curricular programming designed to increase awareness and support of diversity, equity and inclusion values while also administering the University's Student Domestic Exchange Program and POISE, the College's pipeline program with the Borough of Manhattan Community College (BMCC).
