Job Description:

The Office of Research and Grants is a small but dynamic and collaborative team that works with partners across Fairfield University to sustain, enhance, and advance grant-seeking efforts supporting faculty research, campus projects and programs, and community partnerships, and to deepen attention and engagement with donors on behalf of the University. We seek an enthusiastic team member to join the staff of the Office of Research and Grants to advance this work as central to Fairfield University’s mission, including that of diversity and inclusive excellence.

The applicant must have strong writing and communication skills, have attention for detail, take initiative, and be organized, with an ability to juggle a variety of tasks. The applicant must have facility with Microsoft Office (Excel and PowerPoint particularly) along with other virtual communications platforms (Zoom, Microsoft Teams).

The successful candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree and 2-4 years of relevant experience. This position offers an opportunity for growth in the area of research and grants administration.

Position Duties:
  • Collect and analyze data required for proposal development and submissions, for donor reporting and stewardship, and for institutional reporting needs.

  • Research donors, prospects, grant opportunities, and create briefing profiles

  • Assist in development and coordination of events, and preparation of materials for both internal and external constituents to ensure timely and successful completion of the proceedings.

  • Assist in preparing and finalizing proposal submissions and acknowledgements, strictly adhering to deadlines as appropriate.

  • Attend meetings and events with university partners to support the critical work of the Office.

  • Update website, partnering with marketing coordinator.

  • Other duties as assigned.

This position is based at Fairfield University’s Fairfield, CT campus and is not eligible for immigration assistance.
