A.T. Still University (ATSU), the founding College of Osteopathic Medicine, seeks a collaborative and proactive professional to serve as a Liaison Librarian on the Kirksville, Missouri campus. Reporting to the Missouri Campus Head and Assistant University Library Director, the successful candidate is responsible for planning, promoting, and providing a broad range of liaison and information services, including instruction, research consultation, in-depth reference, and outreach and communication to support faculty, staff, students, residents, clinicians, and researchers at ATSU. In addition, the incumbent will contribute to other services including partnering with campus stakeholders and engaging with librarians and staff from across the three libraries. Salary Range : $50,000-58,000.

Responsibilities:
  • Serve as primary liaison to one or more schools or programs
  • Actively engage with a diverse community of faculty, administrators, clinicians, and students in assigned departments through marketing, outreach, and other activities to understand their teaching, learning, and research needs
  • Develop and teach course-integrated instruction sessions and stand-alone workshops
  • Provide research assistance for all university stakeholders
  • Engage in collaborative planning, service implementation, and departmental decisions
  • Contribute to library and university initiatives and actively engage with the wider medical librarian community
  • Engage in professional development and continuing education and participate in professional organizations related to the work of the position
Required Qualifications:
  • ALA-accredited Master’s degree in Library/Information Science OR equivalent combination of advanced degree and relevant experience
  • Understanding of database navigation and advanced search techniques
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, take initiative, proactively create, and carry out projects, amongst multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to think creatively and take initiative
  • Willingness to seek opportunities to provide librarian services to the university community at large
  • Understanding of current trends in academic libraries and higher education preferably in the health sciences
  • Willingness to contribute to the vision of the library and university
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated experience/training with library instruction
  • 1-2 years of experience in an academic setting with health sciences experience a plus
  • AHIP acquisition is strongly encouraged upon hire
