Position Summary:

Do you enjoy using your organizational skills to support students in a fast paced environment? Come and join a dedicated and supportive team at the University of Dayton Counseling Center as a Wellness Care Coordinator!

The University of Dayton Counseling Center is actively seeking a dedicated, hardworking Wellness Care Coordinator to serve as the welcoming presence for the Counseling Center and Gosiger Hall, shepherd the scheduling logistics for service providers, and assist in the daily operations and functions of the Counseling Center. This position serves as the conduit for students seeking services, functions as the facilitator and coordinator for scheduling, and provides administrative support to the Counseling Center staff. The individual in this role handles unique, sometimes stressful, and legally confidential situations, works well independently and with a high level of discretion, and plays an instrumental role on the Counseling Center team. The ideal candidate for this role has exceptional communication skills, is highly efficient, and thrives in a multi-taking work environment.

The Counseling Center actively contributes to the university's holistic approach to mental health and suicide prevention through integration of the UD Step Care Model. To achieve success, the candidate must be dedicated to reducing barriers to care that exist for communities of color, the LGBTQ+ community, and other marginalized groups. Further, a commitment to understand and support the University of Dayton's distinctive Marianist tradition and educational vision, as well as a willingness to model institutional values of service to others, community, and diversity are imperative.

Minimum Qualifications:

High School graduate or Associate's Degree
Experience demonstrating professional and personal boundaries necessary for working with legally confidential information
Ability to make timely and sensitive decisions, in consultation with senior staff
Effective interpersonal skills
Ability to maintain a professional presence in challenging situations
Strong attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications:

While not everyone may possess all of the preferred qualifications, the ideal candidate will bring many of the following:

Post secondary educational experience in the health care field in a registration/reception department
Demonstrated understanding of confidentiality and ability to work with and protect confidential information with integrity in a legally confidential setting
Ability to organize, prioritize, and work independently
Experience working at the University of Dayton, knowledge of UD systems

A federal court on December 7, 2021, issued a ruling that suspends the COVID-19 vaccine requirement that applies to federal contractors nationwide. With this development, the University will pause any enforcement action against employees who have not complied with the requirement to be fully vaccinated by Dec. 8, 2021 or to have requested an exemption to maintain their employment status.
