Job Summary/Basic Function
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
• Responsible for the development and implementation of the University’s Orientation & Transitions programs for all new undergraduate First Year students, Transfer students, and family members. This includes Student Orientation, Family Orientation, Weeks of Welcome, Family Weekend, and so forth.
• Supervise and provide professional development/coaching for 2 Enrollment Coordinators, 1 Coordinator for Orientation, 10 Student Campus Tour Guides. This position is responsible for the recruitment, selection, and training of the staff mentioned above.
• Manage the operating budget for Orientation to include programs supporting successful transitions for students and family members involving multiple fund sources and types of funds.
• Collaboratively work with campus departments to implement a programming schedule responding to the needs and interests of new students at Central State University with special emphasis on the first six weeks of the fall and spring semesters.
• Collaborate with Academic Affairs, Honors College, Athletics, Band, Choir, and other student services to offer programs and services to support new student success and persistence throughout the year.
• Continue the development and advancement of the extended Orientation program Weeks of Welcome orientation experience for all first-year incoming students and continuing students.
• Develop and implement Family Weekend and other family-oriented services in partnership with Alumni Affairs and Athletics.
• Develop learning outcomes and assessment plans for Orientation and Transition Programming. Assess, track, and report information associated with this position. This assessment is conducted in partnership with the Director.
• Lead the marketing initiatives for Orientation and Transition Programming in partnership with other university stakeholders
• Coordinate budgetary reports for Orientation, Weeks of Welcome, and Open Houses regarding facilities, educational media, safety and security, food services, and so forth.
• Assist in the maintenance of departmental web pages.
• Sets agenda and schedules campus tours and other university visits/programs
• Occasional night and weekend hours are required as related to specific programs and services associated with this position and the department.

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community
• Organizing and coordinating skills
• Skill in the use of computerized systems and databases
• Ability to develop and deliver presentations
• Ability to gather data, compile information, and prepare reports
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
• Ability to develop, plan, and implement short- and long-range goals
• Ability to travel on occasion outside the metropolitan area
• Ability to design and write promotional material
• Ability to evaluate student transcripts and/or records
Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree.
• At least two (2) years of experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
• Travel moderately. Must be able to travel and at night and weekends.
• Must be able to lift, move and carry 30 pounds and transport admissions material.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.
