Lecturer and Director of the Choral Program
The Department of Music at Amherst College seeks a full-time lecturer and director of the
Choral Program for fall 2023. This is a semester-long replacement position beginning July 1,
2023. The position consists of conducting two choral groups, the Amherst College Glee Club, a
large ensemble for singers, and the Concert Choir, an ensemble for experienced students, and
teaching choral conducting to interested students. Our expectation is that the successful
candidate will excel at teaching and mentoring students who are broadly diverse with regard to
race, ethnicity, socioeconomic status, gender, nationality, sexual identity, disability/ability, and
religion.

We welcome candidates with at least a master's degree, experience in conducting, and knowledge of liberal arts education. Residency during the academic term is required. Review of applications will begin on April 24, 2023, and continue until the position is filled.
