UWF Nursing is seeking faculty at the doctoral level to join its dynamic team as part of a rapidly growing pre-licensure program. Multiple faculty positions are available.

These full-time (1.0 FTE), 12-month faculty on-campus positions would carry primary responsibility teaching pre-licensure nursing students in the Direct Entry MSN program. These faculty members will teach in the classroom, on-line, and clinical settings. Faculty members may have opportunities to teach at both the Pensacola and Ft. Walton Beach campuses. The position responsibilities include use of technology in the classroom and online, and teaching students in a broad range of clinical settings that align with the faculty members’ expertise. These faculty members may also teach in other School of Nursing programs. Salary will be commensurate with experience. Leadership opportunities will be available within these faculty lines.

Minimum Qualifications:

Doctoral degree from an accredited institution or the highest degree appropriate in the field of specialization with a demonstrated record of achievement in teaching, clinical supervision/direction, and service.

Position Qualifications:

Earned doctoral degree (PhD, EdD, DNP) in nursing, education, or health-related fields.
Minimum of five years of nursing practice experience.
Minimum of three years of experience as a nursing faculty member in an academic setting.
Current unrestricted Florida license as an RN or eligible for licensure as a registered nurse in the State of Florida.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to build successful relationships with students, colleagues, the healthcare community, and other stakeholders.
Strong computer skills using web-based applications and Microsoft Office.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience teaching pre-licensure students in the classroom and clinical setting.
The ability to incorporate evidence-based teaching strategies for higher education into course delivery.
Familiarity with the American Association of Colleges of Nursing Essentials: Core Competencies for Professional Nursing Education.
Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator® (CHSE®) certification.
Experience with curriculum development at the undergraduate and graduate level.
Knowledge and understanding of the NCLEX test plan.
Experience or commitment to the use of technology in distance learning & university teaching.
Interest in collaborating both within and outside the University in the development and delivery of instruction resulting in improved student learning.
