Job Summary/Basic Function:

Wheaton College’s nursing program is searching for a Director of Simulation and Professor of the Practice. Working under the supervision of the Dean of Nursing, the director provides leadership, management, and coordination of simulation learning within the nursing program. The director has both administrative and teaching responsibilities. The director, in collaboration with nursing faculty, develops, plans, organizes and ensures the quality of simulation instruction. The director is a faculty collaborator who works together with their faculty colleagues to identify and develop research to lead the use of simulation within nursing and to support course learning outcomes.

Minimum Qualifications:

· Masters in Nursing required & minimum of 5 years of clinical patient experience

· Training in simulation-based education and three or more years of simulation-based nursing education experience

· Excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills, and conflict resolution skills, with a high interest in working with all levels of learners

Preferred Qualifications:

· Demonstrated ability to mentor students at the undergraduate and graduate levels

· Evidence of outstanding teaching competencies, including online, lab, and simulation

· Evidence of a commitment to service

· Evidenced self-directed and excellent organizational skills

· Demonstrated competencies in patient simulation services, technologies, and applications

· Demonstrated ability to use audio/video equipment and software for recording, duplication, mixing, and editing

The salary for this position will be commensurate with the qualifications, education and experience.
