Job Description Summary
Responsible for day to day management of complex projects conducted with collaborators both internal and external to university. Take leadership role in developing study protocols, writing grants, managing the detailed operations of projects, analyzing qualitative and quantitative data, cultivating close relationships with community partner organizations, and drafting/editing manuscripts for submission to peer-reviewed journal. Develop the team's research strategy, lead projects and co-author papers.

The Functional and Metabolic Imaging Group (FMIG) in the Department of Radiology performs research focused on the use of advanced imaging techniques to diagnose, treat, and monitor various pulmonary disorders, including COPD and lung cancer, as well as for the study of lung transplantation.

Working closely with the PI, the Project Manager will be responsible for helping to manage daily project/grant activities, generating operational timelines, and meeting/coordinating with research personnel to ensure that project goals are met in a timely fashion. He/she will also assist the PI in developing the lab's longer-term strategic vision: identifying future projects and papers to be pursued and overseeing communication of these plans with lab members as well as existing/potential collaborators. The Project Manager will take a lead role in writing and submitting grant applications, as well as in drafting/editing progress reports, conference abstracts and scientific manuscripts for submission to peer-reviewed journals. In coordination with the lab's study coordinator(s), he/she will also oversee the drafting/revision and submission of protocols and other regulatory documents related to multiple grants, ensuring that all applicable deadlines are met.
Finally, the Project Manager may also be tasked with assisting the PI with personnel recruitment: identifying positional needs within the lab, interviewing candidates, etc. He/she may also perform additional administrative duties related to purchasing, organization of special events/conferences, etc., as needed.

  • Provide technical leadership and consultation related to project/grant proposals/ manuscripts/animal protocol development, advises those associated with projects (PI) regarding project status

Salary offers are made based on the candidate's qualifications, experience, skills, and education as they directly relate to the requirements of the position, as well as internal and market factors and grade profile.
