Rhodes College is hiring a Bonner Center Coordinator. In collaboration with the Director, the coordinator is responsible for creating and executing programming related to student engagement in the community. This position will intersect regularly with the departments of Admission, Financial Aid, Community Standards, Residence Life, the Counseling Center, and Athletics. Evening hours, some weekend work travel required.

Job duties include but are not limited to the following:
  • Coordinate with the Director of Bonner Center for Service on recruitment and retention of Bonner Scholars by working closely with community partners, Admission, Financial Aid, and other departments to read applications, interview prospective students, conduct an annual Preview event, participate in regular Admission programs, and ensure compliance with Bonner Foundation policies.
  • Manage the day to day activities for the Bonner Scholars including monitoring eligibility, reflection, student support, transportation, and other needs.
  • Identify, contact, and work with internal and external community partners, including faculty, to participate in training, education, and programming.
  • Work with the Director of Bonner Center for Service and student leaders in coordinating student engagement programs including orientations, regularly scheduled group and class meetings, retreats, and other events.
  • Create and maintain efficient financial processes for student scholarships and work study including approval of hours, mileage, and other functions.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Bonner Center for Service in coordinating student engagement opportunities across multiple community partners.
  • Assist the Director of Bonner Center for Service in the development and implementation of data tracking and student engagement tracking systems.
  • Supervise student interns, Rhodes Student Associates, and Work Study students including the Bonner Leadership Team and Bonner Internship program.
  • Serve as departmental liaison to Student Activities and Fraternity and Sorority Life to be an adviser to student groups engaging with the community.
  • Initiate and collaborate on services-based programs and activities aimed at creating an inclusive environment and fostering a campus climate that respects the wholeness of all members.
  • Serve as an advocate for students, individually and collectively, of varying racial, ethnic, and cultural backgrounds, sexual orientations, and gender identities.
  • Travel as necessary to attend required programs including the Bonner First Year Trip, Bonner Sophomore Exchange, Bonner Foundation Annual Meeting, Bonner Summer Leadership Institute, and others.
  • Regular attendance is an essential function to perform the duties of this position.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • This position requires a valid driver's license, good driving record, and must be insurable by the College's insurance carrier.
  • At least one to three years of experience in office administration or related experience preferred.
  • Must be able to work independently as well as part of a team; college involvement or leadership required.
  • Must have the ability to facilitate strong working relationships.
  • Strong communication, writing, and social media skills preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office required.
  • Ability with work effectively and efficiently with students, faculty, and staff required.
  • Demonstrated ability to organize numerous projects requiring attention to detail, to consistently meet deadlines, to exercise professional judgment and to solve problems required.
