Position Summary
The EOP Summer Institute, required by all entering pre-freshman prior to their entry into SUNY Cortland as freshman in the fall, seeks a part-time 4 1/2 week live-in Summer Institute Leader. This is a professional position, requiring a college degree; recent graduates may apply, and experience is preferred. You will need to interact with students and staff during meals.
Major Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary liaison between the summer faculty and EOP Staff;
- Ensure the students and student staff comply with all established rules;
- Attend weekly staff meetings, report on the progress of the students, as well as any issues needing attention;
- Meet weekly with the EOP Director; address any violations of the established rules, report violations to the EOP Director, including after hours or in emergencies;
- Provide professional leadership;
- Be completely versed in EOP history, mission, and the necessity of the Summer Institute.

Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in a leadership position; knowledge of and experience with EOP history, its mission, and the necessity of and experience with the Summer Institute, or similar opportunity program preparation efforts.
