Lecturer/Assistant Teaching Professor in Criminal Justice Faculty

Penn State Berks, an undergraduate college of The Pennsylvania State University, invites applications for a full-time, one-year Lecturer or Assistant Teaching Professor of Criminal Justice. The successful candidate will teach four courses each semester, including Introduction to Criminal Justice, Courts, Criminology, and other required courses as needed. The ability to teach Research Methods is desired. The faculty member will also be expected to participate in program, campus, and university activities.

This is a term appointment funded for one year from the date of hire with the possibility of re-funding. The start date for the position is August 2023.

Penn State Berks is one of more than 20 Penn State campuses state-wide. The campus is in Reading, Pennsylvania. Penn State Berks offers the collegiality and intimacy of a small college and the strength of a well-respected research university.

Education:
  • A minimum of a Master's degree (or Ph.D. for a Visiting Professor position) in Criminology, Criminal Justice, Sociology, or a related field is required.
  • Prior teaching experience is preferred.
