About the Opportunity:

Brown University’s School of Professional Studies (SPS) brings a Brown education to new audiences of learners: those focused on development of skills and a breadth of knowledge necessary for professional success and leadership. We leverage Brown’s intellectual centers of excellence, rigorous teaching, and developmental approach to learning in a range of programs, including serving students outside of traditional degree programs. We partner with Brown departments, centers, institutes, and schools to develop degree and non-degree programs, and to support the recruitment, retention, and placement success of master’s students, including traditional, non-traditional, and professional students.

Responsibilities:

The School of Professional Studies (SPS) at Brown University is seeking an Inbound Marketing Specialist to join its dynamic marketing team. The Inbound Marketing Specialist is responsible for leveraging new and existing content to drive leads and increase enrollment for the School of Professional Studies and its growing portfolio of graduate, professional, and certificate programs.

This role will work in close collaboration with the members of the SPS marketing and communications team and key stakeholders in SPS to create an inbound marketing strategy that focuses on the creation of content for SEO, social, email, podcasts, blogs, and other organic marketing tactics. Specific responsibilities include optimizing the website for search as well as generating relevant content for social media, emails, landing pages, stories, etc that attracts a diverse audience. The Specialist will develop, track and optimize key performance metrics for these inbound marketing efforts. Experience in search engine optimization, writing, editing, creating blogs, and social media best practices required.

Qualifications:

Education/Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Journalism, English, Public Relations, Marketing, Communications or similar

  • 3+ years content creation, inbound marketing, communications or related experience, or the equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Keen understanding of successful inbound marketing strategies

  • Superb writing, editing, proofreading and verbal communication skills

  • Firm understanding search engine optimization tactics

  • Understanding of KPIs for content

  • Excellent organization, project management and content production skills involving the execution of multiple, simultaneous projects

  • Ability to meet stringent deadlines, work effectively and troubleshoot in a high-volume, ever-changing work environment

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word and Excel)

  • Willingness and ability to support a diverse and inclusive campus community

Preferred Job Competencies
  • Experience working with Slate or other CRM systems

  • Knowledge of HTML and email service provider platforms

  • Experience in education, launching and marketing new products

  • Experience with layout/design programs such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign)

Salary Grade: 9

Additional Information: Applicants are asked to include a resume and cover letter. This position requires work on Brown's campus in Providence, with flexibility to work remotely multiple days per week. Brown is not able to provide visa sponsorship for this position.
