Job Description:

GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

Cape Cod Community College is seeking a part-time, event associate to support on campus and virtual events in a variety of capacities. Duties may include backstage event support for production load ins, technical supervision for simple events, light and/or sound board operation, virtual event support, live stream set up and execution, box office or other front-of-the-house staffing. Individuals will be assigned work based on the needs of specific events as it relates to their area of expertise.

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:

  1. Perform administrative tasks associated with College Events (e.g., edit 25Live requests and calendar entries, submit CAMIS work order requests, promote College Events as needed via email, social media, etc.
  2. Support event load in/out and production run as backstage crew. May hang and focus theatrical lighting, rig, hang and fly scenery or act as swing technician.
  3. Program and/or run digital sound/light boards.
  4. Set-up and/or facilitate virtual events on platforms including Zoom, OBS, YouTube, etc.
  5. Serve as Box Office attendant, facilitating ticket sales for events and performances, properly accounting for all cash received in the box office, verifying daily sales reports, maintaining accurate bookkeeping records regarding sales, and making deposits of ticket receipts appropriately.
  6. Provide front-of-the-house support as House Manager or Usher.
  7. Work independently as Technical Supervisor on duty for simple events not covered by Full-time Staff.



Requirements:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Proficiency with MS Office Suite: Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  2. Familiarity with Web-streaming services (i.e. Zoom, etc.)
  3. Ability to perform well under pressure.
  4. Ability to work amicably with students, staff, venue clients, guest artists, and the general public.
  5. Strong organizational skills, attentiveness to detail and the ability to multi-task, prioritize and work independently.
  6. Excellent time management skills, aptitude for proper task priorization, and a results-oriented work process.
  7. Willing to work flexible schedule including nights and weekends.
  8. Excellent oral and written communication skills.


ADDITIONAL PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Associate degree
  2. Minimum 2 years' experience working live events.
  3. Knowledge of theatrical carpentry, electric, sound engineering and rigging.

Additional Information:

COMPENSATION : $16.00-$18.00 per hour
