Job Responsibilities:

Do you have a background in supporting a data center environment and a strong technical knowledge of server hardware/software? If so, The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina is seeking an Enterprise System Support Specialist. This role requires a high degree of organizational awareness and savvy, emotional intelligence, tactfulness, and collaboration. The duties for this role will include the following:

Manages cloud and on-premise Unix and Windows systems, storage services (SAN and NAS), database & systems services, email (Gmail and 365), and virtual application and desktop infrastructure.

Review and evaluate program service delivery methods and systems including administrative and support systems and internal relationships; identify opportunities for improvement and implements changes to standard operating procedures to enhance services.

Support deploying and managing platforms or infrastructures as a service solutions similar to Amazon Web Services or Azure.

Takes initiative in the development of new methods and procedures and in the solution of difficult problems.

Minimum Qualifications:

A bachelor's degree from an accredited university in technology, business, information systems, educational technology, or a related field of study. Two(2) years or more working in a data center environment supporting Windows, VMware, and Unix, systems and applications.

Thorough technical and functional knowledge of best practices related to successfully administering systems, storage, databases, virtual computing environments, centralized/decentralized software distribution systems, and application security. Strong technical knowledge of server hardware and software. Experience deploying and managing platforms or infrastructures as a service solution similar to Amazon Web Services or Azure. Occasional after-hours work is required.
