The Ithaca College School of Music, Theatre, and Dance invites applicants for an adjunct faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor in Double Bass to begin August 16, 2023. The successful candidate will primarily teach weekly private lessons and studio performance class, as well as chamber music. Candidates with experience in jazz studies and methods are preferred. The faculty member will be expected to participate in departmental and school service such as music audition days, grading juries and recitals, assisting with ensemble auditions, serving on school wide committees, and participating in recruitment activities. Qualifications: A masters degree in double bass performance and professional performance experience required. Candidates who have a record of successful college teaching and who share our commitment to professional preparation within the context of an interdisciplinary and immersive liberal arts education will be strongly considered. Recent ABD doctoral candidates are encouraged to apply. NASM accredited, Ithaca College provides a thriving, professional artistic community situated in the beautiful Finger Lakes region.

Hiring range: $60,000 - $185,000 (commensurate with qualifications and experience), and offers benefits. Please note this position is not full-time, and actual salary will be prorated based on percent of full time load.
