JOB SUMMARY:
Serves as the Industry Partnership Program Manager for the College of Science (SCIENCE). Supports the design, planning, implementation, and tracking of industry partnerships and engagements that promote student experiential learning and workforce readiness, including student internships, co-ops, entrepreneurship opportunities, and shadowing experiences. Reports to the Chief Strategy & Engagement Officer for SCIENCE. Performs other duties, as assigned.
JOB DUTIES:
40% - Essential - RELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENT:
Develop and maintain relationships with industry partners that promote opportunities for science student experiential learning experiences (e.g., internships, co-ops, entrepreneurship or capstone projects, job shadowing). Builds and strengthens the network of industry partners who share a mutual interest in workforce development of science students. Arrange and attend conferences and events that enhance student and industry partner connections, including industry visits, presentations, tours and portfolios reviews under the direction of the Chief Strategy & Engagement Officer.
40% - Essential - PROGRAM MANAGEMENT:
Develop, administer, and manage a SCIENCE industry partnership program. Identify inclusive experiential learning opportunities/connections for science students with industry and provide guidance to students in collaboration with SCIENCE advisers, the SCIENCE student services team, and the Center for Career and Professional Development (CCPD). Lead and collaborate to host on-campus industry engagement events where company representatives present and network with students to enhance professional and career development. Work closely with the Science Director of Alumni Engagement, college advising teams across all units, CCPD, marketing & communications, and the Science leadership team to maximize impact of industry engagement events, including career fairs.
20% - Essential - PROMOTION & REPORTING:
Identify and acquire consistent economic and workforce data sources. Benchmark and establish appropriate program metrics to measure performance; create program dashboard for progress reporting. Establish and maintain an industry partner database, and a database for student employment (internships and full-time) and employer relationships. Develop and implement a communication plan to build awareness and engagement for students and industry partners; work closely with internal resources including the marketing & communications and strategy & continuous improvement teams.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education - Bachelor's Degree
Work Experience 1+ years relevant program experience
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:
Education - Master's Degree - MBA, Science, Education, Business, Human Resources
Work Experience 3+ years in an academic environment, science or engineering, advising, recruiting and placement, and customer relationship management with industry partners. Program management (PMP), Lean Six Sigma
