Overview of Maintenance Technician, Lead
The Maintenance Department is seeking a Maintenance Technician, Lead. The Maintenance Technician, Lead is primarily located at the Westville campus with travel to other PNW locations as needed. This position will be part of a team that maintains the building envelope and all systems within. Operates the central heating and cooling plant. Duties will include general maintenance of buildings, troubleshooting of electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems. Oversight of the energy management system and scheduling of the HVAC systems. The Lead position will also assist the Maintenance Manager in assigning work orders and prioritizing work. The Lead will also be the primary backup for the manager in their absence and provide functional supervision. Availability for emergency call outs is necessary.
Pay :
- $25.75/hour
- Monday - Friday, Day Shift (40 hours per week)
- General maintenance of buildings, troubleshooting of electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems
- Maintain, repair and replace building system components (e.g. HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.)
- Assist in operation of the central heating and cooling plant
- Boiler and chiller water chemical treatment program
- Seasonal cleaning and maintenance of boilers and chillers
- Oversight of the energy management system and scheduling of the HVAC systems
- Assist other staff with troubleshooting and completing repairs
- Functional supervision of maintenance staff. Work order assignments and delegation
- Assisting with snow removal or event setup

Education of Maintenance Technician, Lead
- High school diploma/GED
- 5 years of Experience in building system maintenance and repair in a commercial or institutional setting
- Previous experience in a educational setting preferred
- Steam boiler experience is a plus
- Troubleshooting and repair skills in mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC and controls systems
- Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain relationships with diverse constituencies
- Strong written and verbal communication skills are necessary
- Computer literacy and working knowledge of architectural plans and specifications are essential
- Knowledge of energy management systems and work management systems
