FUNCTION & SCOPE:
To assist the Director and program staff with the administration of the Supplemental Nutrition Assistant Program (SNAP) Education and Training Venture V program which is designed to provide eligible individuals receiving Supplemental Nutrition Assistance with short-term job training at no cost to them. The Program Assistant will interact with program sites, Rochester Educational Opportunity Center staff and Research Foundation administrators
as appropriate.

DUTIES:
• Establish a knowledge base concerning the SNAP Education and Training Venture program policies and regulations in order to assist staff as well as Department of Human Services (DHS).
• Assist staff in planning, organizing and administering work operations and work procedures.
• Assist in organizing and preparing materials for meetings, training and conferences.
• Assist in the delivery of SNAP program orientation and job preparation workshops.
• Assist in report preparation for the intake and assessment stage.
• Scan, organize, maintain and update student records, files and reports.
• Responsible for entering confidential student information and notes into the databases.
• Assist in gathering and analyzing statistical data to produce reports as needed
• Schedule appointments, meetings, trainings and conferences as needed.
• Prepare purchase requisitions for program coordinator's review.
• Prepare and distribute correspondence to program applicants.
• Maintain timely communication via written, telephone, virtual and fax with all internal and external stakeholders
as well as the REOC community.
• Assist staff in following Research Foundation policies and procedures.
• Possess the ability to work remotely and complete job responsibilities/duties if required.
• Other appropriate duties as assigned by Project Director.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Associates degree/vocational certification in area of business, human services, administrative support or equivalent related education with administrative support experience OR H.S. diploma with five (5) years of administrative support experience.
• Demonstrated excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrated experience working with a diverse population
• Demonstrated work experience with complex and confidential information
• Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and Adobe program.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and cooperatively as a team member.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Experience working on performance-based or grant funded programs.
• Working knowledge in Banner and Microsoft Access.
• Familiarity with Rochester Educational Opportunity Center.
