Since its inception in 1905, the Carnegie Mellon Department of Chemical Engineering has been on the leading edge of research and innovation in chemical engineering. With research thrusts across fields such as health and medicine, biofuels, air quality and more, CMU chemical engineering students are paving the way to healthier, cleaner, more efficient future for all.

The Department of Chemical Engineering (CHEG) is seeking a full-time Research Assistant for the Laird research lab. In this role, research work will include (1) analyzing results from research conducted, (2) developing open-source software for new capabilities, (3) collaborating on new problem formulations and research with the group, and (4) preparing reports and presentations to document the research.

Qualifications:
  • MS in Chemical Engineering or related field;

  • Interdisciplinary strength in Process Systems Engineering;

  • A strong research record including academic experience;

  • Strong verbal/written communication skills;

  • Highly motivated and creative, enjoys working in a collaborative research environment.

This is a fixed-term position of up to 5 months and is inclusive of competitive salary and full-time benefits. The starting date is flexible, but April 2023 is desired. Applications will be considered until the position is filled. Please upload your detailed CV and cover letter.
