Job Description

The University of Missouri, MU Analytics division is adding a Data Champion to our growing team!

The primary responsibility for this position will be to engage with Data Analysts and Business Intelligence (BI) Specialists across campus to influence the adoption of best practices for Microsoft data platforms and tools. Additionally, this person will create and deliver training of BI tools for end-user adoption to maximize engagement and utilization.

Key Responsibilities include:
  • Develop training materials including process diagrams for analysts (such as BI tool usage and best practices). Meet with MU Analytics leadership to map out and diagram processes.
  • Administer data analysts ‘Knowledge Management’ SharePoint site (a site for all data analyst support) and content. Create content. In addition, create a process for others to submit content and monitor submissions to approve additions to the site.
  • Administer ‘data governance as a service’ SharePoint site or any future data governance tool (site contains data glossary and table documentation). Guide and train data analysts on usage of site.
  • Create technical support content in the form of blogs, tutorials, talks, videos, etc.
  • Help bridge gaps in analysts’ experience with data access, data assets, and reporting/BI tools for University Data Analytics & Institutional Research Data Management & Integration (UDAIR DMI) teams.
  • Deliver training for onboarding new team members and to help spread knowledge about data technologies, best practices, and tools for existing team members.
  • Help drive adoption and realize value from existing reports and app by building institutional awareness through outreach, in-person sessions and online content, including training videos.
  • Acquire and synthesize feedback/sentiment to drive improvement.
  • Build and foster an ecosystem of community influencers, meetups, hackathons, summits, and experts that amplify our messages and extend our reach.
  • Other duties, as assigned.
Salary

Salary Range: $63,860 - $100,000
GGS Grade: 012
University Title: Administrative Consultant II

Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 6 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.

Preferred Qualifications

Prefer minimum of 5 years of experience with enterprise reporting and analysis. This includes experience working as a data scientist, analyst, or similar role having modeled data, created/delivered reports, and created data visualizations.
