CENTER ADMINISTRATOR

Salary:

Minimum $80,000 ANNUAL (12 months)
Depending on Qualifications
The starting salary for this position is $80,000 but is negotiable based on experience and qualifications.

Job Summary:

The Center Administrator will participate in and guide program development, program planning, strategic planning, facility management, development, and outreach. The Center Administrator will be responsible for the budget planning and core activities of the Institute, including event planning and coordination as well as programmatic and operational support of internal award opportunities. The Center Administrator will also have significant responsibility for communication with members and for Institute publicity, and will supervise other Institute staff.

Responsibilities:

Manages the day-to-day operations of a center or institute. Serves as the primary representative of the center or institute to stakeholders and/or external partners. Develops strategic plans, interacts with donors, supervises staff, determines space planning and information system needs; and develops and administers the unit budget in support of unit goals.
  • 15% Directs strategic planning initiatives and establishes unit objectives to ensure appropriate use of financial, administrative, space, staffing resources, and alignment with the strategic plan. Obtains and validates data needed for strategic decision-making
  • 10% Provides leadership and oversight of all staffing, compliance, information systems, and facility needs for the center or institute
  • 10% Responsible for effective communication and marketing of unit center activities, philanthropic opportunities, community outreach, and accomplishments
  • 10% Provides leadership in center philanthropic activities including donor interaction and coordination of stewardship and prospect development
  • 15% Partners with Center Director and other senior leaders to advance the Center/Institute to a position of academic and professional distinction by fostering excellence in all programs and maintaining, supporting, and successfully renewing appropriate federal, state, and local designations and accreditations
  • 15% Provides leadership and oversight in financial operations including developing and administering budgets and oversight of grants management, contracts, and other funds to ensure adherence to accounting practices and compliance with sponsor rules, regulations, and law
  • 5% Exercises supervisory authority, including hiring, transferring, suspending, promoting, managing conduct and performance, discharging, assigning, rewarding, disciplining, and/or approving hours worked of at least 2.0 full-time equivalent (FTE) employees
  • 10% Administration of awards, grants, chairs, and professorships given by the Institute to its members, including handling applications, financial management of awards and spending, and any necessary notifications and reporting.
  • 10% Membership and Communications. Solicits and receives applications, provides, membership information, maintains membership mailing list and website pages, crafts and edits emails and other correspondence, articles and promotional matters.

Education:

Bachelor's Degree

Qualifications:

Excellent verbal and written communication abilities, facility with writing, strong interpersonal, team building, and organizational skills required. Experience with program and budget management preferred. Supervisory experience is also preferred.

It is anticipated this position requires work be performed in-person, onsite, at a designated campus work location.
