Position Summary: Eastern University’s College of Arts and Humanities welcomes applications for an Adjunct Instructor position in Advanced Modern Technique. This course specifically targets dance students seeking to improve their command of a new exciting approach to Modern or Post Modern Dance. Applicants should have several years of experience teaching at the college level. Ideal candidates will have a Master’s Degree in Dance/Education or comparable professional experience in the field. This class will meet TTH 11:30-12:50 pm on the St. David’s campus and should be energetic, athletic as well as flowing and released. Somatic approaches are welcome and candidates may choose their own supportive texts to accompany the physical demands of the course. Group problem solving, choreography, dance criticism and improvisation should be integrated into the technical approach. This is a one course opportunity for the Fall semester of 2023 from late August to mid- December. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Ideal candidates will have a Master’s Degree in Dance (or the equivalent of professional dance experience) and will have experience teaching at the college level.
