Marketing Coordinator

Summary of Job

Under the direction of the Associate Vice President for Online Learning and Senior Marketing Manager, the Marketing Coordinator facilitates and implements integrated and strategic marketing plans for Metropolitan State University of Denver’s Online programs, departments, schools/colleges and contributes to the overall achievement of the department’s strategic plan. The Marketing Coordinator supports and facilitates the Online Learnings advertising campaigns, website management, and production of other supporting marketing materials for the University, colleges, departments and programs.

The Marketing Coordinator, part of the Online Learning team, engages in the group’s client services approach to supporting campus partner marketing and advertising needs. In doing so, the Marketing coordinator provides a supportive, seamless experience for those seeking Online Learning marketing support and services revolving around increasing enrollment for fully online and hybrid programs across the university.

The Marketing Coordinator will be a brand ambassador and support our online initiatives to increase enrollment through strong marketing and advertising campaigns while strengthening brand identity. Through exceptional internal client service, this individual will help consult on-campus partner needs (e.g., programs, departments and colleges/schools) and will help strategize and construct cohesive and comprehensive cross-channel marketing and advertising plans. Additionally, this team member will use analytic reporting platforms such as Google Analytics to prepare reports highlighting key trends and opportunities for the AVP of Online Learning and Senior Manager of Marketing. The Marketing Coordinator will utilize this data for continual improvement and leveraging data-driven assessment of MSU Denver Online digital marketing and advertising efforts. This position reports directly to the Senior Marketing Manager of Online Learning.

Duties/Responsibilities

Consult, Collaborate and Support Internal Stakeholders 50%
  • Utilize advertising and marketing best practices; including but not limited to effective copy writing, appropriate use of CTAs, application of data insights, informed media placement, regular keyword research and use, and brand-aligned strategy for programs, departments, and service areas in ways that support MSU Denver Online Learning marketing and enrollment goals

  • Collaborate with Online Learning teammates to implement cohesive marketing and advertising cross-channel activities, such as ad landing page best practices to optimize marketing and advertising efforts

  • Lead efforts to utilize advertising/marketing/communications campaigns on various platforms, including, but not limited to, Google Analytics, Google Ads, Meta Ads, Snapchat Advertising, and TikTok Ads

  • Support Senior Marketing Manager by allocating resources and providing consistent and timely responses to requests for marketing support for Online Learning department support

Website development, editing and design 20%

Under the direction of the Senior Marketing Manager and Senior Program Manager responsible for the Online Learning website:
  • Regularly review and update Online Learning website content for accuracy and relevance to include new keyword content at the start of each ad campaign.

  • Support departmental requests for content changes while prioritizing Online Learning goals and digital marketing best practices.

  • Adhere to and remain informed of best practice for usability, design, and conversion, paying close attention to best practices within higher education.

  • At the start and end of each ad campaign, generate and review relevant data on ad landing pages. Recommend changes to content and design as needed based on findings.

  • At least annually, review data and make recommendations on all Online Learning managed website content. Being mindful of the intended audiences, prepare and review data on the effectiveness of audience-specific content and the site overall.

Institutional Marketing/Advertising Support, Implementation and Tracking 20%
  • Support and track advertising and marketing needs and projects, including estimating costs and overseeing associated budget, as directed by Senior Marketing Manager and AVP for Online Learning

  • Coordinate with the University Communications and Marketing (UCM) design and brand team to deliver marketing and advertising creative assets

  • Facilitate delivery of advertising and marketing assets with vendors and advertising partners and sponsors. Monitor and track site-based marketing and advertising plans for trends and performance/metrics reporting. Explore new platforms and channels to enhance the team’s efforts; with a goal of streamlining processes or trying innovative marketing approaches

Other Duties 10%
  • Support achievement of university mission, strategic goals, team goals and individual goals

  • Represent the online learning team in developing strong connections across the University and the Auraria campus.

  • Assist with on-going initiatives, such as brand awareness presentations, participation in university-wide events.

  • Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university/college

  • Proven experience in marketing and advertising role (graduate work, internship(s)and freelance project experience accepted)

  • Experience coordinating/managing multiple simultaneous projects and deadlines

  • Demonstrated excellent communication, collaboration, and analytical skills

  • Firm grasp on various marketing platforms, channels, and best practices, including social, digital, and email marketing.

  • Experience with website content management and usability best-practices, WordPress preferred.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, advertising, business, communications, or related field.

  • Proven experience in a marketing, advertising, and advertising placement

  • Demonstrated experience in marketing and advertising copy writing and proofreading, messaging and branding and facilitating, marketing and advertising strategy

  • Experience in and knowledge of ad placement and analytics tools (Google Ads, Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, Google Data Studio, Excel, Adobe Creative Suite)

  • Experience with and an understanding of website design principles that are compliant with the American’s with Disabilities Act (ADA).

Salary for Announcement

The salary range is $45,300 – $56,700. The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training. The above salary range represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. MSU Denver offers a full benefits package.

Work Hours/Type

This is a hybrid position designed to support flexibility with both in-office work, as well as some remote schedules.
