Job Details

The Student Conduct Coordinator is a professional staff member dedicated to helping undergraduate and graduate students meet the community standards of Illinois State University by participating in the administration of the student conduct process and supporting Student Conduct and Community Responsibility programs, outreach, assessment, and other services. The Coordinator serves as a conduct case manager for issues of academic and social misconduct; gather and consider information, determine responsibility for possible violations and apply outcomes for students in accordance with the Code of Student Conduct. The position must use a high level of discretion to help resolve complex, sensitive matters that often involve many departments and have a potentially high impact on students’ enrollment, University standing, personal wellness, and finance. This position works to educate the university community on student policy compliance and expectations. The Coordinator is a role model for students and represents the Office of Student Conduct and Community Responsibilities, and the university in a positive and professional manner.

Required Qualifications

  1. Bachelor’s degree and
  2. Fulfill one of the following:
    • Minimum 1 academic year (9 months) of experience with student conduct, academic integrity, or other kind of student accountability in a university setting. (Not required to be fulltime experience; for example, graduate assistantship or hearing board member experiences.) OR
    • Minimum of 1 year (12 months) of fulltime work in a college or university setting. OR
    • Completion of the Association of Student Conduct Administration (ASCA) Gehring Academy Foundations of Practice track. OR
    • Master's degree in college student personnel, counseling, higher education, higher education administration, student affairs administration, or a related field.

Desired Qualifications

  1. Master's degree in college student personnel, counseling, higher education, higher education administration, student affairs administration, or a related field
  2. Two years of fulltime experience in student conduct programs at a college or university
  3. Demonstrated commitment to equity, diversity and inclusivity
  4. Knowledge and experience with a student conduct database (Advocate, Maxient, Pave, etc.)
  5. Knowledge of student development strategies including restorative justice
  6. Experience dealing with sensitive and confidential issues
  7. Ability to act independently with use of good judgment in solving common problems and issues
