Position Summary

The College of Pharmacy seeks a dynamic, self-motivated, and collaborative Recruitment Specialist to facilitate, implement, and manage all aspects of student recruitment for the College of Pharmacy’s academic programs, with a focus on the Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) program. This incumbent is responsible for facilitating comprehensive student recruitment efforts to both internal and external constituencies as well as feeder institutions to strengthen the applicant pool in support of the College of Pharmacy’s Mission and Vision.

Duties/Responsibilities

Recruitment
Reporting to the Assistant Dean for Student Affairs, the Recruitment Specialist will:

  • Refine and implement a comprehensive recruitment plan for the College of Pharmacy’s academic programs (undergraduate, professional Doctor of Pharmacy, and graduate programs).
  • Create, refine, and implement recruitment and educational programming for elementary, middle, and high school audiences to build applicant pipeline.
  • Establish and maintain articulation agreements with feeder institutions.
  • Plan and facilitate College of Pharmacy recruitment events, such as visitation days, open houses, advisor luncheon and workshops.
  • Travel to and participate in local, state-wide and national recruitment events, including career and school/college fairs, resource fairs, information sessions, community organizations, and conferences.
  • Participate in community educational outreach programs, events, and activities for recruitment and enrollment of students.
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with guidance counselors, advisors, prospective students, families, internal and external stakeholders.
  • Meet with prospective students and their families to discuss College of Pharmacy academic programs.
  • Develop a College of Pharmacy Student and Alumni Ambassador programs for recruitment.
  • Work with the College’s Development and Alumni Relations (DAR) office to engage alumni and friends in the recruitment process.
  • Work with the College’s Office of Public Relations, Marketing and Communications to refine, implement and maintain social media and marketing strategies for recruitment efforts within the College.
  • Serve as a liaison to UGA’s undergraduate recruitment/admissions office, pre-health advising office, pre-pharmacy office and other campus offices/units.
  • Develop and maintain a database of recruitment opportunities, up-to-date contact list, program data and recruitment reports.
  • Track the application process from input to matriculation.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of recruitment efforts and make changes for enhancements.

Admissions

  • Assist in the planning and facilitating of the admissions and interview process for academic programs within the College.

Miscellaneous

  • Assist with College of Pharmacy student events.
  • Other duties as assigned.
