The Student Affairs Division at the Klamath Falls campus of Oregon Tech is seeking a vibrant, dedicated professional to join the Housing and Residence Life team in the role of Assistant Director of Residence Life (ADRL).

The Assistant Director of Residence Life (ADRL) serves as a key member of the Housing and Residence Life department, with oversight of the Residence Life program that supports the mission, vision and goals of Housing and Residence Life as well as Oregon Tech.

The ADRL works closely with the Director of Housing and Residence Life, the Residence Life Coordinator (RLC) team, student staff, and residential students daily. Duties include, but are not limited to, supervision of the RLC team and oversight of all aspects of the Residence Life program. This includes developing community within all residential communities to ensure a safe and welcoming environment for residential students as well as the campus community, families, and guests who interact with Housing and Residence Life (HRL).

The ADRL oversees, plans, implements, and participates in HRL sponsored and supported programming in support of student learning initiatives. This position supervises the full time RLC team, as well as the Res Life student team and co-advises the Residence Hall Association.

This position works Monday-Friday as well as some evenings and weekends. The ADRL serves in the on-call rotation to respond to Housing and Residence Life related emergency/crisis needs after hours and on weekends. A willingness and desire to work with students as they live and learn in a residential setting is essential as well as a strong work ethic to ensure the student experience while on campus and at Oregon Tech is one fill with positive learning experiences in a safe and inclusive environment.

The Office of Housing and Residence Life strives to build an on-campus community that promotes academic success and fosters personal growth of Oregon Tech students. The Residence Life program is designed to augment the formal experience of the classroom and laboratory, while providing opportunities for residents to meet others from diverse backgrounds and cultures, and to develop a sense of community within the Residence Halls.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in a relevant field such as Higher Education, Counseling or Student Affairs
  • Five years experience in a higher education setting
  • Supervision of full-time staff members

Qualification Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Psychology or Education
  • 2 years full time related experience
  • Experience supervising student employees
  • Experience with college students in a residential setting
