Job Description Summary
The Wharton Global Youth Program is seeking a Program Manager to lead development, operations, delivery, and assessment of the Wharton Pre-Baccalaureate Program, which introduces high-achieving high school students to credit-bearing coursework at The Wharton School. The Manager will have a diverse set of responsibilities including developing policies and best practices for operations and delivery of coursework, leading student support services, overseeing instructional resources, building community and partnerships within strategic areas, and fostering inclusivity and belonging within programming.

Job Description

The Manager, Pre-Baccalaureate Programs will lead development, operations, and delivery of Wharton's first dual-enrollment program for high-achieving high school students. The Manager will have a diverse set of responsibilities including developing policies and best practices for operations and delivery of coursework, leading student support services, overseeing instructional resources, building community and partnerships within strategic areas, and fostering inclusivity and belonging within programming. This position will function as lead on program operations; relationship building; instructional support; diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging initiatives; and student engagement.

DUTIES
  • Program Operations: Establish course calendars, timelines, policies, and instructional deliverables in accordance with university policy; Maintain detailed course and student rosters and ensure accurate billing and financial records; Periodically host student cohorts on campus for ceremonies, presentations, or site visits
  • Relationship Building: Serve as primary point of contact for National Education Equity Lab, GRIT Lab, and Heights, overseeing communications, workflow distribution, data collection, and assessment; Serve as a community liaison with outside agencies and strategic school districts to cultivate partnerships focused on closing equity/achievement/graduation gaps and to ensure growth of underrepresented groups within Pre-Bacc opportunities
  • Instructional Support: Recruit and onboard instructors; Coordinate Teaching Fellow and TA matching process and lead orientation/provide support for TFs/TAs within Embedded model; Oversee creation of term-specific Canvas courses and ensure courses are engaging, interactive, and include relevant assessment
  • DEIB Initiatives and Engagement: Work with Programming Team members, CBOs, and relevant partners to ensure access, inclusivity, and belonging amongst cohorts in both online and in-person settings; Assess policies, programs and initiatives through a DEI lens and make recommendations for changes
  • Student Engagement: Serve as primary academic advisor for Pre-Bacc students: ensure access to/understanding of university resources, assist students in making decisions relevant to coursework, lead new student orientations, encourage student retention; Foster community amongst cohorts: host office hours and/or networking events, encourage engagement and participation, promote learning opportunities

This position will supervise one full-time administrative coordinator.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • A Bachelors Degree and 3-5 years professional experience working within higher education is required; Master's degree within education or a related field is preferred
  • Experience working with high school students is strongly encouraged
  • Strong interpersonal communications, organizational skills, and attention to detail will be necessary for this position
  • Ability to work successfully both independently and as part of a team; the Manager is an integral and active member of the Global Youth team.
  • Experience with SalesForce, ZenDesk, University of Pennsylvania financial and student record systems, Canvas, and Qualtrics are also strongly encouraged

Salary offers are made based on the candidate's qualifications, experience, skills, and education as they directly relate to the requirements of the position, as well as internal and market factors and grade profile.
