Coordinator of Career Development - Internships and Experiential Learning

To help support the work of Chatham University we have an immediate opening for a Coordinator of Career Development-for Internships and Experiential Learning. The coordinator reports to the Associate Director of Career Development.

Under limited supervision, the Coordinator will provide high-level support in areas of Internships and Experiential Learning through database management, internship contract management and tracking, and administrative management of the university internship program.

The Coordinator will provide support for students, staff, and faculty navigating internship search and registration process; and support the Associate Director in growing and supporting university internship program. This is a hybrid position with the opportunity to work remotely 1-2 days per week during certain times throughout the year.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Serve as primary support person for university staff, faculty, and students regarding the university internship requirement.
  • Provide consultation for students seeking an internship and assist in completion of all necessary registration requirements provide general career consultation for undergraduate and graduate students across a range of degree programs in areas like resume and cover letter writing, interview preparation, job searching, networking, and professional identity development (training can be provided on this aspect of the position).
  • Liaise and frequently communicate with Internship site supervisors and employer partners that may serve as internship host sites in collaboration with / under the direction of the Associate Director.
  • Initiate, manage, and provide quality control for learning agreements, faculty and student correspondence, and outreach to internship sites.
  • Coordinate and facilitate Student Internship Preparation workshops and reflection groups, and maintain resources for students, faculty, and staff as it pertains to the internship requirement.
  • Assist with the dissemination of electronic assessments and other data collection related to the internship program.
  • Maintain current knowledge of university processes and build relationships with relevant university personnel.
  • Supervise internship graduate assistants.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of bachelor's degree
  • Previous experience within higher education setting preferred
  • Experience with database management, data collection, and reporting
  • Strong communication skills, written skills, and computer skills
  • Ability to manage detail-oriented projects
  • Proven track record of building and maintaining relationships a range of populations
