Visiting Assistant Professor of Technology

The Manufacturing Technology, Construction Management, and Technology Education programs in the School of Science, Technology, and Mathematics seeks to fill a visiting position at the rank of Visiting Assistant/Instructor in Technological Studies, to begin in August 2023.

Principle Responsibilities: The successful candidate is expected to teach undergraduate technological studies courses, including (but not limited to): CAD, fluid and mechanical systems, materials science, advanced manufacturing processes, pneumatic systems, and management techniques. Candidate will hold regular office hours weekly for students and assist with program organizations as needed. Candidate will attend weekly faculty meetings and assist with student recruitment when needed. Additionally, the candidate will assume responsibility for the upkeep of labs and applications for the courses assigned.

Required Skills: Knowledge of current educational strategies, particularly those high-impact practices that support close mentored work with students. Applicants should demonstrate a strong potential for independent research, good interpersonal skills, and a collaborative approach.

Minimum Qualifications: Advanced degree in technology, engineering, or a related discipline, and some teaching or training experience

Preferred Qualifications:   Ph.D. in technology, engineering, or a related discipline (ABD candidates will be considered). Teaching experience in a formalized setting.
