Job Description
This Research Speech-Language Pathologist position is ideal for an ASHA -certified SLP who has interest in specializing in treating speech sound disorders in school-age children, while contributing to the evidence base for the field. The SLP will follow study procedures to conduct approved clinical trials, administer standardized and researcher-administered assessments and treatment, and must be willing to learn to deliver speech sound interventions with high fidelity as part of speech therapy sessions. Additional duties include project management; participant recruitment; maintaining and managing research data and documentation; collaborating with clinical and research experts in speech-language pathology; and assisting with dissemination of research findings. The position may be appropriate for speech-language clinicians interested in pursuing a PhD or completing postdoctoral training. The position will be time-limited, depending on the ongoing grant funding to support the position.
Qualifications
Experience working specifically with school-aged children with speech sound disorders is required. Must be capable of communicating and interacting effectively with a range of individuals including parents, school-age children, other speech-language clinicians, student research assistants, and researchers. Must be willing to learn to implement researcher-developed intervention and assessment procedures for children with speech sound disorders. Must be comfortable with learning to use new technology in a clinical research setting. Must be able to provide appropriate linguistic models for speakers of American English.

- Masters in Speech-Language Pathology (required)
- PhD in Speech-Language Pathology or related field (preferred)
- 2 years of experience as speech-language pathologist with children preferred
- Must possess ASHA CCC - SLP (or be eligible)
- Must possess NY Licensure in Speech-Language Pathology (or be eligible)

- Recruit research participants with speech sound disorders for clinical research studies.
- Perform research based documentation, including data coding and entry, management of Institutional Review Board documentation.
- Oversee relevant compliance-related matters for the associated research projects, including Institutional Review Board approvals.
- Help to manage students engaged in research projects
