Campus Facilities Management (CFM) - Building Services Team
Job Description
The Campus Failities Managemeng (CFM) - Building Services Team is hiring for a full time Custodial Superviso r. This position primary supervises custodial staff, spot-checks their work frequently, and reviews work for neatness, cleanliness, efficiency and overall results. This position will provide both hands-on support to their team as well as administrative support functions such as time keeping for direct reports, receiving/assigning work order tasks, and coaching/corrective action discussion, as needed. Our team provides service to both Volker and Hospital Hill campuses. Services provided include but not limited to custodial, hard and soft surface floor care, snow removal, pest control, trash and recycle pickup.
Our mission is to provide outstanding service, support, and safety for the university community through innovative and cooperative efforts promoting customer satisfaction and team pride.
Specific duties include, but are not limited to:
- Instructs and assists custodial staff general cleaning processes and procedures, operation of cleaning machies electric, battery and robotic, proper lifting and bending procedures, correct use of cleaning chemicals and removal of any hazardous materials, such as water from floor areas.
- Develop inter-departmental relationships and maintains standards in operational support for these departments
- Adjust individual assignments to accommodate absences
- Daily inspections of buildings and key control.
- Respond to custodial emergencies whenever they occur (e.g., foods, spills, etc.)
- Conduct routine facility inspections to assure compliance with health standards and job completion; complete inspection reports and review with employee as well as regular performance evaluations.
- Initiate and prepare forms and/or records, such as timesheets, inventory records and requisitions, and employee time off requests.
- Control the issuance and receipt of cleaning materials and supplies for assigned work force; monitor budgetary expenditures for materials and equipment.
- Purpose written material and equipment requests.
- May initiate disciplinary process, including recommendation for discharge.
- Supervise the preparation and set-up of equipment and facilities for special events.
- Other duties as assigned
- An Associate's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
- At least 4 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary
- Previous supervisory experience is preferred
Full-Time, 40 hours per week (1.0 FTE), benefit-eligible, staff position.
Shift
Monday to Friday, 4:00am -12:30pm
