Job Description:

Title: Academic Program Coordinator

General Statement of Duties:

Coordinate academic support services to the Peer Assisted Learning Program. This person must have the ability to work well with a diverse group of individuals and to be perceptive and understanding of student concerns. Job requires extreme sensitivity and appropriate handling of confidential information and a professional approach to all responsibilities as outlined below. This is a grant funded, temporary appointment.

Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate the planning and implementation of Academic Support Services related to the Peer Assisted Learning Program in STEM department, Writing Fellows Program in the English department, and other Academic Success Center support programming.
  • Work closely with Assistant Dean and Faculty members to achieve program goals.
  • Oversee the scheduling and communication of these programs.
  • Recruit, hire and train student personnel.
  • Track and maintain all data associated with the program.
  • Communicate and troubleshoot program outcomes.
  • Maintain working knowledge of computer systems including Self-Service, Word, Excel.

Requirements:

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree.

Strong interpersonal, communication, presentation, listening, and counseling skills.

Ability to interact with a very diverse group of faculty, students, staff, and university personnel.

Experience working in higher education.

Preferred Qualifications:

Master's degree in a related field.

This is a part-time, non-benefited, hourly position.

Schedule is 30 hours per week and pay is $30/hr. This position will end on March 31, 2024 with no commitment of the position continuing.
