Primary Purpose of Position:
The primary function of this position is to assist with network troubleshooting / support, and the configuration and installation of network hardware and software. This position requires a person with a solid understanding in network management processes and industry best practices for both wired and wireless networks.

Minimum Education/Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or closely related degree from an appropriately accredited institution and three years of experience in operations analysis and design, systems programming, or closely related area; or a Bachelor’s degree from an appropriately accredited institution and four years of experience in operations analysis and design, systems programming or closely related area; or an Associate’s degree in Computer Information Technology, Computer Engineering Technology, or Networking Technology from an appropriately accredited institution and five years of experience in operations analysis and design, systems programming, or closely related area; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Ability to demonstrate and comprehensive understanding of networking design technologies for both switched Ethernet and wireless mediums;
Ability to make recommendations for changes to approved NCCU network design standards;
Ability to independently apply technical judgement to work assignments to achieve desired outcomes;
Incumbent must have the ability to work well with others in a team environment;
Incumbent should possess critical thinking skills and must be able to function in high-pressure situations;
Incumbent should be able to spot trends in reoccurring operational problems and take action to prevent future occurrences;
Incumbent must have knowledge of troubleshooting network problems through all layers of the OSI model.
