Responsibilities:
VA Benefits Compliance:
  • Keeps up to date with VA regulations and rules. With the support of the Registrar and Assistant Registrar, reads, comprehends and ensures compliance with laws and regulations with respect to military benefits.
  • Submits enrollment information, tuition and fees, and change of status to VA for students eligible for VA educational benefits.
  • Closely monitors enrollment, keeps detailed records, and notifies VA of any changes within 30 days.
  • Assists students with questions about benefits and how to apply.
  • Notifies VA of students on probation, academic suspension, or degree awarded at end of each semester.
  • Works closely with Student Business Services monitoring VA tuition payments or refunds to VA.
  • Submits grades and mandatory data reports to the military for students receiving Tuition Assistance benefits.
  • Fulfills mandatory annual reporting to the State Approving Agency. Prepares for and participates in the VA mandatory audits.



Enrollment/Degree Reporting Compliance:
  • Manages the submission schedule and reporting to the National Student Clearinghouse (NSC) for Federal enrollment and degree verification reporting, NSC and National Student Loan Data Systems (NSLDS) enrollment error report resolution and timely submissions, and Title IV enrollment and graduation reporting ensuring compliance with Federal and State regulations. Maintains files and submits reports in accordance with regulations.
  • Performs data audits and corrections in our database and on enrollment and degree reports to be submitted to NSC.
  • Collaborates with the Office of Information Technology and NSC technical support to resolve any technical or database issues affecting the accurate reporting of our enrollment and degree data through NSC.

NCAA Compliance:
  • Reads and comprehends NCAA athletic eligibility regulations.
  • Assists with athletic eligibility evaluations.
  • Perform mandatory student data reporting to NCAA.

Documentation Support, Data Management, and Technical Support:
  • Articulates transcripts and processes course substitutions and degree modifications for military students, students receiving military benefits, and athletes and other students as needed.
  • Assists with updating articulation tables.
  • Assists with the annual review of catalogs and updating of curriculum check sheets.
  • Assists with technical programming and troubleshooting in degree audit software, including inputting programming syntax for all new degree programs, articulation of curriculum revisions, and performing ongoing testing to ensure the accuracy of data output.
  • Assists with audit, analysis, and correction of student data, including but not limited to registration, biographical, and curriculum data.
  • Assists with the regular business of the Registrar's office, including but not limited to, enrollment verification, add/drop course processing, preparing for and assisting with commencement, fulfilling information requests, transcript processing, transcript articulation, degree audits, course substitutions, and degree modifications.
  • Assists with special projects as assigned by the Registrar or Assistant Registrar.
  • While this position serves as the primary point of contact for all students seeking VA benefits, this position also serves as a point of contact for all other people needing assistance from the Registrar's office.
  • Other Registrar's office duties as assigned.


Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively and use a creative, solutions-oriented approach to address problems through teamwork.
  • Proven ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and projects.
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills.
  • Strong database management skills and proven computer literacy with utilizing and applying Microsoft Office applications as well as specialized software programs and computer applications.
  • Ability to perform detail-oriented work accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to learn and apply policies, rules, and regulations that are essential to the position.
  • Previous higher education and Banner experience preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree required.

Salary:
12 monthCommensurate with experience, qualifications, and university’s resources.
