Position Purpose
Reporting to the Associate Dean for Student Support Services, the Director of the Undergraduate Deans Office is responsible for the development, management and direction of student academic and personal advising and related programming within the Division of Student Affairs. Working in the context of a highly selective liberal arts college environment, the Director promotes students’ intellectual and personal growth consistent with the mission of the College and supports the administration of College policies and procedures. The Director fosters close collaborations with faculty, students and staff to address undergraduate student support needs and to promote undergraduate student success.

Masters plus 6 or more years' experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
Required Qualifications - Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
- Exceptional organizational skills, problem-solving, proficiency in teamwork, collaboration, flexibility, and strong communication to multiple audiences.
- Capacity to foster strong and effective relationships with students, faculty, staff, families, and campus partners.
- Proven record of relevant programmatic and supervisory experience.
- Proven record of effectiveness in student advising and development of programs that address the needs of students from underrepresented backgrounds and promote student success.
- Proven record of successful experience responding to individual and community-based crises with a high level of discretion and experience with student privacy/confidentiality, including FERPA .
- Solid foundation in student developmental theory and its application to professional practice in student affairs.
- Commitment to DEI work in higher education.
- Experience with on-call responsibilities and student crisis management.
- Master’s Degree with 8-10 years of progressively responsible experience in undergraduate academic support services.
- Relevant doctorate preferred.

- Oversees the implementation and interpretation of institutional academic action/undergraduate academic scholarship standards; undergraduate enrollment status policies including time away and returns to the college; course Incomplete agreements; and maintenance and retention of student records in compliance with FERPA .
- Serves in divisional, senior staff in charge on-call rotation, responding to significant campus or student crisis issues after hours.
- Oversees and on occasion provides direct services to students, parents and families in the most complex and sensitive cases.
- Collaborates with Student Affairs colleagues and campus partners in case management, student and community crisis response, and promotion of campus resources to support student success.

- Develops, reviews and manages operating budget in consultation with the Associate Dean for Student Support Services and the Director of Fiscal and Human Resources.
- Oversees recruitment, hiring, training, management and evaluation of all staff in the Undergraduate Deans Office, which includes 17 staff members with 12 direct reports.

- Leads or collaborates with campus partners on programming that holistically supports student success, including but not limited to Transfer and Exchange Student Orientation, Sophomore through Senior Year Programming, Peer Advising Programs, and Commencement.
- Provides strategic direction and supports the assessment of the work within the Undergraduate Deans Office, including the Health Professions Program, Case Management and First Year Experience Initiatives.
