Visiting Assistant Professor, Motion Pictures Wright State University,
Dayton, Ohio
Position
Visiting assistant professor moving-image media production at Wright State University’s School of Fine and Performing Arts, Motion Pictures program.
Essential Functions
90% Teaching classes, advising and supervising students in Motion Pictures. 10% Service for the department, college, and university.
Required Qualifications
MFA in motion picture production or a Bachelor’s degree in a related field and equivalent professional work experience of at least 3 years, such as industry experience with visual effects, animation & graphics, compositing, cinematography, and/or contemporary post-production workflow; a record of creative, scholarly, or professional accomplishments’ evidence of a successful teaching; ability to teach in the area of motion picture production with a specialization in one or more of the following: visual effects, compositing, cinematography, and/or contemporary post-production workflow.
Preferred Qualification
Working knowledge of Adobe Premiere Pro, ProTools; experience in and ability to teach specialized, advanced classes and workshops in writing/production practices; audio post- production; and/or post-production technology/workflow. Knowledge of non-linear video editing software and non-linear audio editing software.
